Chrissee's Junior Prom

Who knew it could take a village to bring about a successful prom?  Of course, there are all of the parent and student volunteers prepping the dance, but when Chrissee decided to go to every dance there was her Junior year (last chance at a high school social experience, said the anthropologist-in-training), I never expected such high levels of drama.  Between the changing dates, the best friend turned Promzilla, and Mommy's hands unable to hold a needle long enough to make the necessary dress alterations -- none of us were terribly certain this whole thing would happen in the end.
 TO THE RESCUE!!

Chrissee's BF since the third grade said he could stand in as the second half of her ticket because, let's face people, you can't date your best friend.  My fantastic friend, Candace, drove all the way from South Jordan after work one evening to help do the hand stitching and sewing that was in desperate need of steady hands (she also gifted Chrissee the perfect broach -- thanks Candace!!) and Daelynn finished up the stitching in the front. We spent a family adventure day at the indoor pool with our friends, the Schlaich's and then watched as Chrissee pulled off the amazing Chef-turned-Princess by the end of the evening.  (Chrissee made Pounded Fried Chicken and Mashed Potatoes for dinner all before becoming the prettiest girl at the ball.)
