Run, run as fast as you can!

Good morning Saturday! Hershey's Chocolate hosted a Track Meet for our town today. Daelynn has been practising every week for a month and was geared up for some speedy racing. Of course, if she hadn't forgotten her tennis shoes Amme may not have looked at the family calendar soon enough to be there. But, twenty minutes was plenty of time to shower, dress, and be there! The event was held at Ogden High School's track and the day was perfect. Overcast but warm and still. Daelynn ran only two races - the 50 yard dash and the 200 meter - because her team scratched on the relay. Disappointing? Yes. But, she placed third in both and ran really strong races. At the mid-point of the event, the MC called on all the younger than 6-ers who were too little to participate. Gabriella decided to run the 50 yard dash even though she has a silver-dollar sized sore on the back of her heel and was wearing some mary janes without socks. Rebecca wishes she'd captured that grin. She was ELATED to run. But, she looked at the runner next to her. So, we missed it. Gabrie came in fourth. Daelynn told her she was an "all-star" runner. To which, Gabrie replied, "I know, but now I am so tired."
