Memorial Play
This Memorial Day started bright and early. GO! GO! GO! For my family and I, so far, it is difficult to make it a solemn sort of holiday because we don't know anyone who personally fought and died in one of the wars the USA has participated in. This year, we began the day at the local cemetary. The owner had tanks parked all around. (We didn't know that until walking the grounds, reading head stones, and discussing the history of various wars the girls noted on the headstones.) But, we thought that if the tanks were being buried in the cemetary, they could use some flowers too. We brought daisies, but decided they maybe should have been 'mums.
After the cemetary, we took Daelynn to her Track Club practise. That girl can fly! (Just keep the inhaler close.)
The sun was out and Rebecca was playing with the reflections and the camera.
We hosted an impromtu BBQ in the backyard. Rebecca loves it when the yard is full.
Samuel getting tired. (He always plays with Amme's hair when he's tired.)
James BBQ-ing the perfect burgers and dogs. SMOKIN'!
Chrissee and her friend Bryn battle it out for the tetherball championship.
Gabriella and Samuel attempt to figure out croquet.
Rebecca hangs out in the hammock for a few minutes.
