The Band Goes Marching On and On

After only two months of practising the flute (and only a month of marching band marches and music and dinkles), Chrissee and her high school band strutted their stuff on the streets of Layton for the 4th of July parade. Having dislocated her coccyx on Friday, Rebecca was afraid she wouldn't make it, but with the help of her good friend, Rachel, she found herself on the front lines witnessing another shining moment. Chrissee warming up before the march.
One of our favorite floats (complete with a swing) had large flowers made of foam.

The OHS trailer was as shiny as a mirror after the students spent several hours on Friday using donated equipment and supplies at a local body shop.

The pink ladies of the Salon on Main brought a bug.

Filling the sky with color and flags.

Can you spot the dinkles?

The grand entrance we'd been waiting for...

The fire engines made a noisy entrance.

Hey kids, look! It's Uncle Sam.

We'll each take one of these old time automobiles, thanks!

The unicycles left us wondering how to disembark.

One way to stop a drunk driver... wear a shiney red dress and a tiara.

Gotta love a man in a kilt carrying a bagpipe.

Hey, someone took the BEHS colors and called them their own.

Of course a cow standing next to the temple and a patch of tomatoes on a parade float is going to be a "holy cow".
Bring on the star spangled eagle.

Even the smallest ponies made it to the parade.

Ta-dah! It's Super Dog (and his starry diaper.)

After recruiting a surrogate grandpa to sit with during the parade, Gabriella spent some time gathering taffy and confetti.
