This is seriously a big deal, my friends! Bethany and Chrissee work for three hours a day during the week practising until it's perfect, not to mention the time at home or the time on the bus getting to and from competition Saturdays.
The show this year is the 1001 Arabian Knights. DON'T MISS FRIENDS AND FAMILY night coming up! It's an opportunity to see the show for free, photograph your students and even attempt to shadow the show. I'll keep you posted for dates and times.
Last week, the football coach told the band they could have all of half time to perform their show. Guess what he told the Tigerettes? Yep. Same thing. The drum major saw the Tigerettes lining up and ordered them onto the field faster than they've ever done and skipping the first "visual". They beat the Tigerettes on, got a standing "OH!" for their show and left the second half of half time to the Tigerettes. But, the coach was more than a little put out. He told the Marching Band they could only come to games if they pepped ONLY -- no show. So, the band went on strike, skipped the game and rested up to play in the rain the next morning. The Tigers have their second win of the season (with a third place stuck in the middle.) Chrissee was SO glad to have her own flute back (as was Gillette for being able to hear the lone flute all the way across the field) and Bethany is working hard at saber tosses (this is code for a whole lot of bruises.)
I'm so glad they love working hard and are loving what they work at. Can you pick them out in the line up above?
