Breaking in to the Private Sector

James has a new job!

After another long, hard year of teaching at a charter school, James came to the carefully considered conclusion that it was time to start looking for employment outside of the teaching sector.  This decision was made before he knew that, once again, the charter school he worked so hard for wasn't going to be able to offer him full-time employment due to a drop in enrollment numbers -- a good thing, really, because he felt more confident about walking away.

Rebecca has a connection in the Career Center where she works that met James at the Christmas party and wanted very much to help him to happier trails.  The timing of the opportunity was perfect and James jumped at the chance to submit his resume.  A series of long interviews followed, spread out by summer travel and vacation schedules.  But, each interview sent home a more confident, happier James.

After the last interview, the Regional Director told him they'd deliberate and "get back to [him] at the beginning of next week."  Seriously?  I thought I might die.

Monday almost came and went, but the phone rang during dinner and...ta-dah!! James starts next week.  We're so excited and thankful for the opportunity for James to use his degree and his hobbies in a whole new, satisfying way this year. No grading papers until 2 in the morning. Just a job solving puzzles on a daily basis and helping a whole company to grow in the process.
