The Living Aquarium

The first monday evening of every month is half-priced admission, so we did a bit of driving so we could have a family adventure! Kohyen is so excited to get to come along and see new things.
Gabriella is as enchanted as any of us to see life under the sea before her very eyes.
A bit o' Coral. There are some interesting documentaries about coral reefs and the delicate balance between ocean temperatures and local island choices - like preserving Mangrove trees - that are very interesting. A coral reef is a great place to learn how interconnected each species of Earth truly is.
This was Bethany's picture face all night. I think it was authentic.
No flash photography for the octopus please! Oh, and Gabrie really wants one for her birthday.
Except for the screaming eels!
Daelynn braved the saltwater for this once in a lifetime opportunity and was really glad she did.
Uncle Quinn wanted Samuel to be able to reach a starfish and brought the starfish to him instead of the other way around. (Note the attendants face - BIG no, no!)
Granmere is truly happiest near ocean life.
John shows Kohyen the starfish.
Ahoy, maties!
Some spiders, lizards, and poisionous dart frogs (complete with instructions on how to make your own poisonous darts.)
Oh, you never smile at a Croc-o-dile. No, you can't get friendly with a croc-o-dile. But, this glass holding tanks make awesome live displays of the optical principals in physics. (Too bad James missed the trip.)
Here that cute Ko-Ko Puff we're all coo-coo for!
Bethany even found a giant frog.
Another view of the shark tank and the various fish that swim there.
Seeing the sting rays for the first time. In a minute, we're all going to lean down and touch one, but that was too exciting to document on camera.

Uncle Quinn
Daelynn

Gabrie, feelin' cool like that.

Can't wait for the next family adventure. Gabriella is hoping we'll return to the Aquarium because she was too scared to touch the stingray fins the first time around.
