James came home and offered Chuck-o-Rama for dinner so Rebecca wouldn't have to end the night with a messy kitchen. Rebecca is one of those odd ladies that would rather just stay home and eat. Eating out is expensive and, invariably, the little ones here the word "out" as "playground" and the night becomes too much.
Tonight wasn't so bad as far as the little one were concerned. This was probably spurred by the grandma in the booth next to us harshly dropping off her youngest grandson saying, "Don't you ever embarrass me like that again!" All we could think was she was embarrassing herself. He was a sweet little blonde boy of about Samuel's age who could barely lift a fork to his mouth without a, "Don't spill! We don't want any messes!"
Things we learned tonight at dinner:
Rice Krispee treats are delicious drizzled in berries.
Chocolate Milk applies to Murphy's Law of Preschooler Spills as well as all red drinks do.
The more expensive all-you-can-eat joints become - the more you want to eat to make it worth it.
and...
Jello Giggler squares cannot be stacked higher than 3 without falling over.
It's snowing here in Utah again. Put away the shorts for another few weeks because Winter is coming into a fitful stop and she hasn't sung her last song yet.

Glad you could enjoy your evening...not much a fan of Chuck-o-rama...I won't tell you my name for it. All you can eat is more a waste of money...my family doesn't ever eat enough to make it feel worth it.
ReplyDeleteI (Rebecca) completely concur. There's a chinese food place we've gone to that's WAY less expensive and everyone goes home full from. We don't eat out often - between the expense and the preschoolers, I'd rather be washing dishes. But, it was awfully nice of James to think of me.
