Spiral Jetty

Our family adventure to the Spiral Jetty in early May 2012 ended in quasi-disappointment.  Unexpectedly, this famous sculpture was still under water!  However, there was sun and sand and foam for all.  The long road out to the north end of the Great Salt Lake takes you past the Promontory Point (known for its goden spike monument) and a couple of cattle ranches (home to a family of golden eagles.)   We also found that oil that has leaked from boats on the lake gums up and sticks to brand new, turquoise shoes (way to be prepared fo an adventure Chrissee) and that one should ALWAYS carry a first aid kit in the car for those Rebecca moments when I decide to traipse my way across jagged rock covered in two feet of water hoping for a kodak moment and fall off earning a very vampire worthy wound on my ankle!
