Fourth of July Parade

Grandmere, Lisa & her family were all still in town on Monday, July 4th.  We decided to meet up at the parade in Layton so everyone could support their cousins as they marched.  This turned out to be easier said than done.  There was some confusion about where the parade ended which meant finding a new spot to sit, but Grandmere promised all of the grandkids their very own snow cone first (SO GENEROUS! -- Thanks Grandmere!)  and the snow cone shop didn't have Dr. Pepper (Grandmere's favorite).  We all headed one direction, but she thought we were going in another and, well, what a mess!  I went searching for her without a cell phone to call anyone with and without a single number memorized correctly so I could borrow someone else's phone -- except my brother John's who didn't have my husband's number.  How do these things happen?!

Eventually, I found my family only to discover that Dakota had gone missing.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  We had planned on playing at the park for a bit, but we'd all had enough stress for one day and I suggested returning to my house so we could let everyone play in a fenced area while preparing lunch.

As for the parade, Chrissee is fantastic as the Tiger Band's lone flutist.  Bethany and Daelynn were so excited that they didn't drop the flag once -- even with technical difficulties like the water girls shooting water on the flag poles or in Daelynn's glasses.  Way to go ladies!

Sadly, my pics from the parade were accidentally deleted.  Thank you Lisa for sharing yours!
