The First Week of School

School started in the middle of the week, on a Wednesday ( just to be odd), this year. Which, like most decisions, had its positives and its negatives. For example, the bedtime routine is a tough one to pull back until you have to from being dead tired. But, being dead tired can lead to extreme bouts of crankiness, (if you've ever been a teenager - you know what I mean.)

This year, we have nearly every sort of schooling covered again. James is back at the University taking the few classes needed to get the Earth Science and Physical Science Endorsements added to his Physics teaching degree. (These were the two that everyone wanted when he interviewed this year and will prepare him to teach a science in every grade from 7-12.) Chrissee is a sophomore at the highschool facing a rigorous schedule of several AP classes and ceramics. Bethany is an 8th grader at the junior high and hoping to take the world by storm. Daelynn is in 6th grade at the elementary school and already facing negative powers of ten in the world of decimals. Gabriella's birthday was 2 months after the deadline and not allowed to begin Kindergarten this year, but every morning she puts on her back pack and tells us she's ready anyways. So, we're working in a little bit of preschooling. Samuel just wants to jump on the trampoline and chase the pets around. Rebecca has welcomed Kallen to the family from 9-1am on school days while his mom is finishing up her degree. He's a cutie. He and Samuel love cars about the same amount and we're all learning about sharing.

Thankfully, the Disque family from Washington was able to help the girls with back-to-school needs. The girls are all growing so fast.

You can tell from these pics that Bethany leaves before the sun crests the mountain. Chrissee has to be there before the stars are ready to give up the morning sky for marching band. Rebecca is trying to squeeze an after school pic into her busy schedule.
