Daelynn's science fair project this year was to see whether or not a seed actually needed the SUN to grow. She chose three different light sources -- incandescent, florescent, and black light -- and kept sunlight as her control to determine their effect on pea seeds. It was pretty fascinating to find the seeds sprouting roots and shoots in their little plastic cups kept safe from Samuel and Gabriella's curious fingers in the crawl space behind the washer and dryer.
The result? Pea seeds really dig incandescent light and Daelynn learned a lot about the scientific process, keeping records, and making a graph in excel. She even won a "Superior" rating from the judges at the competition.
Congratulations to the budding Botanist (who still wants to be a Veterinarian)!!
