Snow -- FINALLY!

Without any warning (mostly because we don't watch the news and don't follow the weather reports), we woke up to a full six inches of beautiful white on Saturday, January 7.  My first clue?  The brilliant brightness of my basement bedroom at six in the morning.  Oh well.  Who wants to sleep in anyways?
The little ones were SO excited to have a good reason to get their gloves on.  We all went outside and found that our awesome neighbor had walked our sidewalk with his snowblower, leaving us with our front walk and the driveway to finish up.  Samuel and Gabriella tramped through the backyard snow to dig out their "just right" sized shovels and worked by my side.
After finishing our own driveway, we headed to the neighbors' house.  Samuel wanted to build an igloo and Gabriella initially tried carrying shovels full of snow across the street.  She stopped for two reasons.  A) Mom said, "Not a good idead." (too many cars driving in and out that day) and B) that snow was HEAVY.
Good thing we were equipped for the weather.  (These are Chrissee's feet shod in boots from Maggie.)
