The girls and Rachel and I created this poem for an after dinner treat:
October is a scarlet wind rushing through trees,
a colorful leaf racing faster than a bat mobile
with a chair that eats your booty.
October is a creepy, black cat dancing
to Caliope music setting a dark alley on fire
with the rest of his nine lives waiting to be stolen.
Only the weeping willow dances in October
its leaves dripping peanut butter singing
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
October is a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple
people eater shivering over a pumpkin freakin' pie --
the fork in his mouth
while fangs
and claws
and laughter
echo through the haunted house.

I personally think it's pretty fantastic! And it was great fun to do. Should we do one for every season?
ReplyDeleteI think seasonal family poetry is a brilliant idea. :D
