New Year New Schedule

Spring Semester 2010 begins the long hauled countdown to the finish line of our undergraduate careers. Rebecca turned off everything over the semester break which may not have been the best decision as Editor-in-Chief, but was perfect for Wife and Mom. January has hit with a huge splash (that feels as shockingly painful as a belly flop).

James is getting up at 5:45am Monday through Friday so he can be prepped and professional as a student teacher of some nearby (35 minute drive) freshman Physics students. A wonderful surprise is that a friend and neighbor also works out that way, so James is able to carpool (which eases our gasoline worries tremendously). Being a student teacher is like having a full-time job you don't get paid for... James is working through lesson plans and grading assignments while still attending a night class on Wednesdays and working for eight hours on Saturday. We're thinking most home repairs will be waiting on Spring Break, but the 50mph gusts of last night took out a section of fencing which has helped us change our mind. :)

Rebecca had to replace the EIC cap immediately with a Metaphor Cover Vote in the Union Building and the submission deadline hot on its heels. There have been Budget meetings and a Senate Proposal to do. In addition, Rebecca took a part-time job with WSU's Education Access and Outreach Department tutoring at a local junior high. She's currently in the training phase and is struggling through getting the toddlers to child care and driving everywhere she needs to be and get there on time. Her full-time class load includes a thirteen hour long Tuesday, a senior thesis on Urban Water Usage, and some heavy duty ArcGIS mapping... but they say you can do anything for four months!

Chrissee is trying out for the JV Softball team. Bethany is in her school's production of Music Man (pictures coming soon) and Daelynn has memorized every state and its capital before the other students in her class. Gabriella has informed us that her sister Gabriella - the one with the black hair - saves seats for her in church and sometimes uses her blanket. Our Dickson cousins shared a train table with us and Samuel is in Vehicular Heaven every afternoon. (We're still working on the concept of gravity though.)

All in all our lives are so full, we've decided to just love each other through it and laugh a little when we can. Bring it on, eh? That's what I said. :)
